Lakithra is a delightful, traditional Greek village, located in the southwest of the island of Kefalonia and is surrounded by olive groves and lemon trees.
Lakithra is known for its advantageous location and warm climate. In the village there is a sumptuous bakery, convenient mini-markets, George's Bar, excellent restaurants and tavernas (including new for 2010 Maki's Taverna and a pizzeria) and a few pretty churches. High in the hills there are the most spectacular, panoramic, rural and coastal views which inspired Lord Byron during his stay in Metaxata. Lord Byron used to copmpose poems with a view to the Ionian sea, sitting at Byron's rock.Lord Byron's rock can be found in Lakithra village!

Lakithra is an ideal base for excursions and visits to any destination within the island. Some of Kefalonia's prettiest beaches are in the Lakithra vicinity including Avithos, Ai Helis and Ammes in Livatho and Makris and Platis Gialos in the direction of Argostoli. Other beaches, such as Karavados, Pessada, and Lourdas are only a short drive away.

Argostoli, the capital is just 2km away and is a lively, cosmopolitan town with an exciting atmosphere, numerous bars, restaurants and modern shops.
